We recognized that children were dying from senseless violence in our community and that action needed to be taken. We quickly realized that the violence was just a symptom of deeper underlying issues within the families in the community. Therefore, we are focused on strengthening the family unit and identifying and developing leaders within the community to effectively collaborate and inspire community change. I have witnessed generational curses along with a defeated mentality that led to a lack of motivation and desire to change. I believe that being a part of The New Leadership Network will increase my capacity and knowledge as a leader within my organization as well as within my community.”
