Damian Martinez
Senior Management Consultant, Stanislaus County Chief Executive Office
Damian is currently the Senior Management Consultant with Focus on Prevention in the Stanislaus County Chief Executive Office. He provides consultation, advisement, and assistance with this county-wide prevention effort. Prior to joining the CEO’s Office, he was the Assistant Administrator with a private, non-profit foster family agency in Stockton; and years earlier, was a clinician and the Administrator with a social service agency that primarily provided counseling, domestic violence, and substance abuse services in Hayward.
Damian also has been a university professor of criminal justice, criminology, and social work at California State University Stanislaus, California State University San Bernardino, Arizona State University, and Rutgers University. He holds a Ph.D. and MSW in social work (social service administration) from the University of Chicago, and a BA in sociology from UCLA.
Damian was born in the Bay Area, first resided in the Central Valley in 2000, and recently moved to Modesto last year. He has been married for 12 years and has 3 children, all boys. Damian’s passion and beliefs center around public service, specifically focusing on building sustainable strategies that empower individuals and families to enhance their lives.
