Jowanda M. Collins

Opportunity Stanislaus is an economic and workforce development organization in Stanislaus County. In her role of Chief Workforce Development Officer, she is charged with building bridges between industry, education and the local workforce. In addition, she oversees a team of HR professionals who provide recruitment and consulting services to businesses throughout the region. She is the President of the Central Valley HR Management Association, served a term as the Workforce Readiness Director for the California State Council of SHRM (CalSHRM), and currently sits on the State Council representing Merced and Stanislaus Counties.
Jowanda was born and raised locally and has a deep love of our community. She chose to stay in Stanislaus County-to give back to the communities which have given her so much. She frequently shares what a privilege it is for her to work in a role where she helps neighbors succeed while also assisting local businesses so that they may not only survive-but thrive in our region.
Jowanda and her husband currently reside in Oakdale where they raise their daughters.
