Manuel Rivera
Mental Health Clinician, Stanislaus County Behavioral Health & Recovery Services
Manuel Rivera is a Mental Health Clinician with Stanislaus County Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS), the county’s mental health and substance use disorder treatment provider. In his role at BHRS, he provides mental health services at various schools throughout the county as well as partner with the targeted community to provide and manage effective prevention and behavioral health services that promote the community’s capacity to achieve wellness, resilience, and recovery outcomes.
Manuel was born and raised in Modesto and obtained his Masters of Social Work and BA in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from California State University, Stanislaus. He recently moved to Turlock, CA where he lives with his wife Miriam and his one year old son Sebastian.
Outside of work Manuel can most often be found in his childhood neighborhood in south Modesto where he is involved in community-driven initiatives to improve and sustain the emotional well-being of the community. Manuel currently serves on the board of South Modesto Partnerships and is involved in leadership with Manos Unidas South Modesto Community Group. Some efforts include a neighborhood park restoration, asset based initiatives (cooking, art, folkloric dance, sports), town hall meetings, cultural celebrations, neighborhood clean-ups, youth leadership, and most importantly building and strengthening relationships amongst community.
