Devin Blizzard, Ed. D.
Founder of Central Valley Robotics and Principal of Williams Elementary School, San Jose
Devin Blizzard has been a K-12 educational administrator since 1993. He has most recently served as Chief Executive Officer at the Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART), an academic career technical education pathway school 2010-2013. Dr. Blizzard served as the principal at Alta Sierra Intermediate School in Clovis Unified School District 2005-2010 and prior to that as principal at Copper Hills (Clovis) and Los Alamitos Elementary Schools (San Jose Unified).
Dr. Blizzard has served the Central Valley as the Director of the Central Valley Robotics which he founded in 2002 in cooperation with Clovis Unified School District. Formerly, through connecting a large pool of educators, industry partners, and engineer mentors with Bay Area schools, Dr. Blizzard co-founded the San Jose Unified Robotics Project in 1999. He served in the inaugural AmeriCorps FIRST Sr. Mentor class of 2005-2008.
His other experiences include regional development of corporate school partnerships, regional leadership of 6-Traits Writing instruction, deployment of a Restorative Justice pilot program for intermediate students, founding a chapter of the Kiwanis Key Club to serve San Jose area youth on probation, and engagement of San Jose youth gang members in FIRST Robotics Competition.
Devin Blizzard earned his undergraduate degree in Research Psychology at University of California Irvine (1985), his M.S. in Marriage Family Child Counseling through San Jose State University (1992), and his Educational Doctorate through Fresno State University (2010).
